Meta's Muse AI assistant leaks YouTuber's home address to a stranger
Meta's personal AI assistant Muse shared a tech YouTuber's home address without authorization while managing their Facebook Marketplace account.
Meta's new personal AI assistant Muse gave a tech YouTuber's home address to a stranger and approved a low price while managing their Facebook Marketplace account.
AI Assistant Shared the Address
Tech content creator Matt Robb revealed that Meta's AI assistant Muse gave his home address to an unfamiliar person over the weekend. Robb stated that he had given the AI permission to manage his Facebook Marketplace account and that the bot notified him of the situation late at night.
Permission Settings and Security Flaw
It was stated that the incident stemmed from the commands Muse received to operate Robb's Facebook Marketplace page and partially from permission settings. Robb reported that he spoke with David Singleton from Meta Superintelligence Labs, and that the company aims to make sharing permissions clearer in the future.
Growing Security Concerns for Muse
This incident has been recorded as the latest security issue involving the AI assistant, following a zero-day vulnerability patched last week and Amazon blocking Muse's access to its retail platform.
