Under the agreement, Akamai granted Anthropic the right to purchase up to 5% of the company's circulating shares, while an initial commitment is expected to yield approximately a 2% entitlement.

It was stated that this seven-year contract can be expanded with an additional commitment of $9 billion, potentially bringing the total amount to approximately $20 billion, following which Akamai shares gained 15% in value.

Akamai anticipates generating approximately $150 million to $300 million in revenue next year from this strategic collaboration with Anthropic.
