The FBI National Threat Operations Section alerted local law enforcement on August 28 regarding threatening queries made in an AI chat on August 11.
Investigating officers stated that the suspect used the Anthropic AI system to express intentions to obtain a weapon and carry out an attack targeting students at Serna Elementary School.

Local investigators worked alongside federal authorities to verify the suspect's identity and identified the account through emergency information requests sent to telecommunication providers and internet companies.
The obtained records linked the suspect to the relevant IP traffic, phone number, and residential address; the suspect was booked into the Bexar County Jail, where a bond determination will be made.
