Nvidia announced that it holds a giant investment portfolio totaling $99 billion, consisting of public equities, registered securities, and equity investments across the artificial intelligence supply chain.

Distribution of the Investment Portfolio

Nvidia's total investment portfolio of $99 billion, reached as of the close of its fiscal second quarter, is divided into three main categories.

Of this capital, $47.7 billion consists of public equities, $47.9 billion of registered securities, and $3.3 billion of equity investments.

Public Equities and Highlights

According to the company's 13F filing, the biggest names in the public equities category include Intel, Space Exploration Technologies, and CoreWeave.

While Nvidia invested $5 billion in Intel last September, SpaceX shares were acquired when xAI investments transformed into a publicly traded asset following a merger.

Funding for Artificial Intelligence Laboratories

CFO Colette Kress stated during the second-quarter earnings call that they have invested approximately $50 billion in pioneering artificial intelligence laboratories.

Among the top three names in this field are OpenAI with $30 billion, Anthropic with a stake of up to $10 billion, and Safe Superintelligence with $5 billion.

Infrastructure and Other Investments

The final item of investments focuses on infrastructure financiers rather than start-ups, with SoftBank's SB Energy venture standing out as the only public name in this group.

Additionally, Hugging Face's $12.9 billion acquisition was not included in this investment set as it was announced after the quarter closed.
