White House AI Executive Decree and Industry Agreement
While the US administration signed a 'superintelligence' executive decree for artificial intelligence, tech leaders joined a security agreement and warned against excessive regulations.
The US administration has implemented a new executive decree stipulating that artificial intelligence be referred to as 'superintelligence', while executives of leading technology companies signed a security agreement at the White House.
New Era for Artificial Intelligence
US President Donald Trump signed an executive decree mandating the use of the term 'superintelligence' instead of artificial intelligence in official correspondence and reports.
With this new regulation, authorized institutions were granted a 60-day period to update the legal definition and clarify the scope of the superintelligence concept.
Security Agreement from Tech Leaders
At the meeting held at the White House, many figures, including executives from Google, OpenAI, Meta, Anthropic, xAI, and NVIDIA, signed the security agreement.
This signed agreement text stipulates that companies increase their internal control mechanisms and external auditor partnerships for the safety of artificial intelligence models.
Emphasis on Cooperation Against Strict Regulations
Vice President JD Vance stated that the government prefers to cooperate with technology companies rather than establishing a rigid bureaucratic oversight mechanism.
Vance expressed that excessive and incorrectly designed regulations could slow down innovation and that existing oversight can be carried out by relevant institutions.
