In his comprehensive speech at the United Nations Summit, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan drew attention to the situation in Palestine, the structure of the UN Security Council, and global income inequality, emphasizing that a new paradigm must be built.
Palestine and Global Conflicts
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his sorrow over the absence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the summit.
He stated that Türkiye will continue to be the voice of a free and sovereign State of Palestine.
UN Security Council Reform
Emphasizing that the past 12 months have been one of the bloodiest periods of the last 30 years with over 60 conflicts and wars, Erdoğan stated that the UN has failed to fulfill its mission.
He reiterated that the Security Council must be reformed in line with the principle that "the world is bigger than 5".
Income Inequality and Technology
He stated that a new paradigm must be jointly built to produce solutions against the deepening income inequalities worldwide.
He called for the establishment of a common international legal framework in the field of artificial intelligence.
Regional Developments and Climate Justice
He stated that they want the Russia-Ukraine war to end on the basis of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called for the recognition of the TRNC.
He reminded that climate justice will be brought to the forefront at the COP31 Summit, which Türkiye will host in Antalya in November.
