ROKETSAN Artificial Intelligence Hackathon Begins in Ankara
Selected young talents have joined a 48-hour competition marathon in the organization aimed at increasing strategic capabilities in the defense industry.
At the ROKETSAN Artificial Intelligence Hackathon held in Ankara, 72 young people who passed rigorous training and interview phases started competing to develop artificial intelligence solutions for real problem scenarios over 48 hours.
The Process Leading to the Competition and High Participation
A total of 2,457 applications were received for the event held at a hotel in Ankara, and 1,778 people who passed the preliminary criteria were invited to artificial intelligence workshops.
While the three-day training sessions were met with great interest, participants were provided with practical information in the fields of LLMs, computer vision, and autonomous systems.
Training and Certification Process
During the training process, which included an average of 1,250 unique participants daily, over 950 questions were answered and certificates were given to more than a thousand participants.
Following the trainings, after the English and technical exams, 155 people were taken into human resources interviews.
Formation and Names of the Teams
The 72 young people who successfully left all elimination stages behind and earned the right to take part on the hackathon stage formed teams bearing the names of ROKETSAN products.
Participants distributed tasks to develop their projects under the team names ÇAKIR, MAM-L, ŞİMŞEK, AKYA, ATMACA, BORA, SUNGUR, and TAYFUN.
The Place of Artificial Intelligence in Defense Technologies
ROKETSAN Chairman of the Board Faruk Yiğit drew attention to the strategic importance of artificial intelligence in the future of defense technologies during his speech at the opening ceremony.
Yiğit stated that they evaluate this technology as a critical capability that transforms the entire value chain from design processes to production and decision support systems.
