Sean Parker and Prem Akkaraju are Rebuilding Stability AI Around Music
Stability AI, led by Napster co-founder Sean Parker, is being restructured to develop AI tools aimed at music professionals.
Napster co-founder Sean Parker and CEO Prem Akkaraju, with funding support from major record labels, are transforming Stability AI into an entity that produces artificial intelligence tools for music professionals.
A New Turn for the Music Industry
Napster co-founder Sean Parker is returning to activities in the music industry in a compliant manner. Two years ago, he joined the rescue operation of Stability AI, which was on the brink of collapse due to financial troubles and internal turmoil.
Investment and Record Label Support
In late August, the company announced that it secured a total of $76 million in funding from investors including giants such as Sony, Warner, and Universal. Under this agreement, the record labels licensed their catalogs for AI training.
New Audio Models and Features
Following this process, Stability AI launched three new audio models and AI-powered music editing software. These developed artificial intelligence systems can generate full instrumental tracks or short musical excerpts via text prompts.
Upcoming Updates and Control
According to statements made by Sean Parker, a new update to be released soon will allow users to guide the AI by humming a melody or beatboxing.
