Superhuman Acquires Meeting Notes Startup Fathom
Productivity platform Superhuman is acquiring Fathom to enhance AI-driven business processes.
AI-focused productivity platforms have acquired the Y Combinator-backed Fathom to integrate meeting summaries and action items.
Details of the Acquisition Process
Instead of developing its own meeting note-taking tool internally, Superhuman chose to acquire the Y Combinator-backed company Fathom. With this move, the platform aims to combine email, calendar, and AI agents with meeting context.
Fathom's Financial History
Founded in 2020, Fathom has raised over $30 million in funding to date, according to PitchBook data, and reached a valuation of $94 million in 2024. The company's investors include funds such as Zoom Apps Fund and Telescope Partners.
Broad User Base
Thanks to its comprehensive free plan, Fathom has reached over 400,000 monthly active users. It is known that more than 1 million people have recorded meetings using the tool so far.
Statements from Executives
Superhuman CEO Shishir Mehrotra stated that they recognized the difficulty of developing a note-taker on their own. Fathom CEO Richard White emphasized that Superhuman's extensive distribution network played a key role in this deal.
