212 Photography Istanbul Begins in Istanbul with Its Ninth Edition
Celebrating the bicentennial of photography, 212 Photography Istanbul will meet art enthusiasts at numerous venues across Istanbul from September 26 to October 11.
The ninth edition of 212 Photography Istanbul will be held at more than 25 venues across various locations in Istanbul between September 26 and October 11 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of photography. The festival will feature exhibitions, talks, workshops, film screenings, and artist meet-ups.
Scope and Events of the Festival
The 200-year history of photography will be explored through the works of artists from diverse geographies and interdisciplinary events. The program covers a broad spectrum ranging from exhibitions to talks, workshops, and special projects.
Exhibition and Event Venues
The festival route extends to over 25 venues in different districts of Istanbul. Many prominent locations, such as Tophane-i Amire, the Galata School Foundation, Akaretler No:5, Eski Posta Han, St. Benoît Church, and Taksim Sanat, will host exhibitions.
Collaborations with International Institutions
Significant partnerships with cultural institutions and photography organizations from various countries stand out in the festival program. Diplomatic missions from Brazil, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, and Slovakia, along with institutions like Magnum Photos, are providing support.
