2nd International Turkish Theatre Festival of Prizren Begins
The International Turkish Theatre Festival will bring together artists and theatre companies from different countries, primarily from Turkey and the Balkans, in Kosovo.
Realized in cooperation with Art Theatre and the Yunus Emre Institute, the 2nd International Turkish Theatre Festival of Prizren is preparing to meet theatregoers across Kosovo from September 8 to 13, 2026.
Scope and Dates of the Festival
Organized in partnership with Art Theatre and the Yunus Emre Institute, the 2nd International Turkish Theatre Festival of Prizren will be held between September 8 and 13, 2026.
International Participant Profile
Within the framework of the event, numerous theatre companies and artists from Turkey, Italy, North Macedonia, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and Kosovo will meet in Prizren.
Statements from the Yunus Emre Institute
Yunus Emre Institute Kosovo Coordinator Ramazan Yılmaz stated that the festival has expanded its sphere of influence this year, reaching a larger structure that also encompasses the Turkic world.
Play Selection and Events
ART Theatre Director Sonay Buş conveyed that as a result of evaluations made among 123 applications, 27 different events will be presented to art lovers.
Opening and Closing Plays
While the play "Majestik", staged by the Izmir State Theatre, will be featured at the opening of the festival, the Ankara State Theatre will stage the play "Göğe Yazılmış Bir Alp" at the closing.
Screenings Across Kosovo
Theatre plays, in which approximately 200 artists will take part, will meet audiences in Pristina, Mamusha, Gjilan, Gjakova, Peja, and Mitrovica, alongside Prizren.
