34 Billion Lira Restoration Campaign for Historical Buildings in the Earthquake Zone

Budget Distribution of General Directorates
While resources exceeding 12 billion 265 million liras were utilized for structures allocated to the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, the General Directorate of Foundations allocated a budget of 22 billion liras for the earthquake zone.
Completed and Ongoing Projects
Within the scope of efforts conducted by the Ministry, preservation and restoration activities are being carried out on many historical structures such as the Gaziantep Castle, Kahramanmaraş Castle, Hatay Museum, and the Diyarbakır walls.
Support Provided for Registered Buildings
A support program exceeding 2 billion 140 million liras was implemented for a total of 1,608 registered immovable cultural properties owned by citizens across 11 provinces.
Targeted Timeline for Foundation Works
Out of 678 foundation cultural properties examined by the General Directorate of Foundations, the restoration of 209 has been completed; another 58 works are planned to be finished by the end of 2026, and 50 more within 2027.
