525 rare works donated by Prof. Dr. İsmail Erünsal to the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library, including the handwritten Divan from Şeyh Galib's youth, have been made available to researchers worldwide following the completion of conservation and digitization processes.
Donation of the Collection to the Library
The 525 rare works meticulously brought together by Prof. Dr. İsmail Erünsal were donated to the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library to be preserved and shared with readers.
Şeyh Galib's Youth Divan
One of the most striking pieces in the collection is recorded as the youth Divan penned in Şeyh Galib's own handwriting when he was only 18 and 19 years old.
Other Works Found in the Collection
In addition to Şeyh Galib's work, the rich collection contains valuable documents such as the 1523 Dîvân-ı Emir Şâhî, the Narh Defteri (Price Regulation Ledger), Seyfullah Ağa's Sefaretnamesi (Ambassador's Report), and the Tarik Defteri.
Maintenance and Digitization Process
The Presidency of the Turkish Manuscripts Institution successfully completed the maintenance, restoration, digitization, and cataloging procedures of the works within a short period of approximately two months.
