The 8th Didim Olive Festival, held in Aydın's Didim district, has opened its doors to promote olive and olive oil culture. The four-day event features workshops, talks, and a Guinness World Record attempt.

Festival Started with a Cortege

The first day of the traditional organization in Aydın's Didim district began enthusiastically with a cortege walk and an opening ceremony. Following the cortege moving from in front of the Old Courthouse, protocol speeches were made.

Guinness Record Attempt

On the second day of the festival, one of the most striking events, a mass olive oil tasting, was held as a Guinness World Record attempt. Tastings took place at various points, notably the Temple of Apollo and the City Square.

Science, Gastronomy, and Culture

On the third day of the events, the health effects of olive oil, gastronomy, and cultural heritage topics were discussed. Panels with the participation of expert names and workshops on olive oil delicacies were organized.

Competitions and Closing

On the last day of the four-day festival, an olive oil dishes competition, special recipe workshops, and musical performances were held. The event concluded with an award ceremony and certificate presentation for those who ranked.
