Doctors of the World announced that, on the anniversary of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, it has reached approximately 1 million 300 thousand people by carrying out health, food, clean water, and psychosocial support activities.

Long-Term Health Services in Gaza

Doctors of the World, which has been delivering both humanitarian aid and health services to Gaza for years, has continued to work uninterruptedly since the very first day of the October 7 process.

While the association has been operating in the region since the early 2000s, it made its work permanent by establishing the Khan Younis Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center in 2015.

Psychosocial Support and Basic Needs

Thanks to the psychosocial support activities launched in recent months, important steps are being taken, especially to help children cope with the deep traumas caused by the war.

Immediately after the start of the attacks, the scope of health services was expanded, and food, nutrition, and clean water activities were increased.

Food and Clean Water Distribution

In the face of the deep hunger crisis in Gaza, the association has provided hot meals, baby formula, and food packages, while also restarting the Yeryüzü Kitchen (Doctors of the World Kitchen) in Northern Gaza.

In the region where infrastructure and network water systems have largely collapsed, clean water was delivered to a total of 86 thousand people in need in the northern and southern sectors.

The Struggle for Survival of Healthcare Workers

Association personnel and pharmacist Rima Garip experienced great difficulties during the war by having to migrate from northern to southern Gaza with her children.

Giving birth to her son Mahmud in a tent, Garip later returned to the north and continued to work at the Yarmouk Clinic, providing healthcare services.
