Art, history and music come together at Gedevet Plateau Days
Organized by Alanya Municipality, Gedevet Plateau Days were celebrated with a photography exhibition, zeybek performance, documentary presentation and a concert.
Organized by Alanya Municipality at the Gedevet Plateau Park Forest, the traditional Gedevet Plateau Days provided citizens with culture-filled moments through a photography exhibition, folk dances, a documentary screening and a concert program.
Start of the Event and Participants
A program was organized by Alanya Municipality at the Gedevet Plateau Park Forest in order to keep cultural values alive and transmit historical memory to future generations.
Alanya Deputy Mayor Murat Levent Koçak, Mayoral Advisor Nazmi Zavlak, municipal council members, plateau residents and numerous citizens attended the event.
Black and White Photography Exhibition
Gedevet Plateau Days began with a visit to the Black and White Photography Exhibition prepared from the archives of the Alanya Municipality Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs.
Shedding light on the city's past, the photographs featured slices of social life, people and daily life, winning great appreciation from the participants.
Performance by Zeybek Trainees
Alanya Municipality Zeybek Course trainees took the stage in their local attire and presented a folk dance show to the audience.
This performance, where traditional folk dances were exhibited, was met with great interest and applause by the citizens attending the event.
Plateau Stories Documentary Screening
The documentary titled Plateau Stories from Living Witnesses, directed by Hayri Yenialp, was screened.
Conveying Alanya's plateau culture through the narratives of people who experienced those days, the documentary received full marks from the audience.
Statements by Murat Levent Koçak
Deputy Mayor Murat Levent Koçak stated that they will continue to keep cultural values alive and pass them on to future generations.
Koçak expressed that they protect the city's history through folk song compilations, flavors on the verge of being forgotten, and documentary studies.
Sounds of the Earth Concert
The event concluded with the Sounds of the Earth concert featuring Hürses Ceylan, Tahir Ayne and Hamed Babavand.
In the concert held in a natural atmosphere, music lovers accompanied the songs and experienced pleasant moments.
