Konohafest, a Japanese culture and anime festival held in Ümraniye, Istanbul, was subjected to a physical attack by a group chanting 'Allahu Akbar' (Takbir). Following the incident, which targeted participants including children, the festival was canceled for security reasons.

Tension in the Festival Area

An event named Konohafest was organized in Istanbul's Ümraniye district on October 3-4 to promote Japanese culture, anime, and art. During the event, a group marching while chanting Takbir launched a physical attack against the participants in the festival area.

Equipment Damaged and Event Canceled

During the attack, numerous participants, including children and families, were targeted, and flags, stands, and event equipment in the area sustained major damage. Law enforcement forces intervened in the resulting skirmish.

According to information reported by Sözcü TV reporter Nedim Bayhan, the attacking group was removed from the area through police intervention. Following the incidents, the festival was canceled and ended early in order to protect the safety of the participants.
