Avesta Publications' Decision on Diyarbakır Book Fair

Avesta Publications, one of the established institutions of Kurdish publishing, announced that it has decided not to participate in the Diyarbakır Book Fair due to rising costs, organizational conditions, and inappropriate dates.

Details of the Decision Not to Participate in the Fair

Avesta Publications shared with the public through its social media account that it will not take part in the 10th Diyarbakır Book Fair, which will be held between September 26 and October 4.

Drawing attention to the rising costs in recent years, the publishing house stated that they do not want to participate in the fair without a good booth and a spacious area.

Rising Costs and Date Issue

While the statement emphasized that the fair was organized at an inappropriate date, it was expressed that the warnings made from the beginning were not taken into consideration.

Stating that financial loss has reached an unacceptable point, officials noted that under these conditions, the decision not to participate has become mandatory.

General Framework of the Fair

Organized by TÜYAP Fairs Group in cooperation with the Turkish Publishers Association and with the support of the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the fair will open its doors at the Mesopotamia International Fair and Congress Center.

Within the scope of the event, 27 Kurdish publishing houses and institutions are planned to take part under the umbrella of the Kurdish Publishers Association, alongside 74 panels and nearly 300 book-signing sessions.
