Back to School Event Held in Damascus

Children and their families were brought together with educational, culture, and entertainment activities at the event organized by the Syrian Ministry of Culture at the National Library.
Within the scope of the program, various activities were organized to strengthen children's bonds with books and reading culture.
Rich Stand and Exhibition Areas
A stationery exhibition, as well as educational and entertainment areas, were established in the event venue; in addition, publishing houses specializing in children's books participated in the program.
Painting and art areas, along with intelligence games and chess primarily, provided students with an interactive experience.
Aiming to Strengthen the Library Bond
Said Hijazi, General Manager of the National Library of Syria, stated that the event aims to encourage children and their families to visit the library.
Hijazi expressed that such programs strengthen the library's place in daily life and that they aim to increase cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
Educational Tools and Historical Exhibitions
Raneem Al-Hafiz, the person in charge of the stands, conveyed that school bags, stationery supplies, and various tools supporting home education were presented.
Zubaida Sakallah, Director of the Library User Services Department, noted that they exhibited examples of textbooks and magazines used since the 1950s.
Psychological Support Conference
A conference titled "Psychological Keys for a Successful Back to School" was given to parents by behavior regulation specialist Wafa Ghaybeh.
The conference addressed topics such as providing psychological support to children, not evaluating the entire year based on the first week, and maintaining a safe home environment.
Future Programs and Ongoing Events
Carried out with the participation of the Directorate of Children's Culture, the event will continue with theater and art performances on the upcoming Friday and Saturday.
