Balıkesir City Theatres Opens Its First Curtain with Kanlı Nigar

Balıkesir City Theatres, established within the body of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, met with art lovers by making its first premiere with Kanlı Nigar, one of the classics of Turkish theatre.

Art lovers who filled the Fatih Hall of the Avlu Congress and Culture Center witnessed the first day of this long-term step taken in the name of performing arts in the city.

The First Curtain Opened with Kanlı Nigar

The first play of Balıkesir City Theatres was Kanlı Nigar, written by Sadık Şendil and bearing the traces of traditional Turkish theatre.

The work was staged under the direction of master actor and director Kubilay Penbeklioğlu, with the participation of the ensemble's staff artists.

With the establishment of the City Theatres, Balıkesir has acquired a structure that not only hosts events but also performs its own art production.
