Balkan Folk Dance Course in Izmir Concluded with an Enthusiastic Show
The free Balkan Folk Dance course program, organized for the first time by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, concluded with a colorful final show in Bornova.
The course period of the Balkan Folk Dance program, implemented for the first time by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, ended with an enthusiastic event held at the Ice Sports Hall in Bornova Aşık Veysel Recreation Area.
The Finale of the Free Course
The finale of the free courses, which started in July and targeted citizens aged between 18 and 50, was held with great interest.
Families came together at the hall, which hosts various cultural and sports events following the removal of the ice rink during the summer period.
A Balkan Wedding Was Reenacted
In addition to the folk dance performances prepared by the trainees, a traditional Balkan wedding was reenacted on stage, presenting colorful scenes.
The event came to an enthusiastic end with the cheerful groom's halay, attended by the trainees alongside their families.
High Protocol Attendance
Numerous bureaucrats and citizens attended the night, which brought the people of Izmir together with the cultural world of Balkan folk dances.
Berkhan Alptekin, Head of the Youth and Sports Services Department of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was also present at the program.
Support for Culture and Art
Conveying the greetings of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, Berkhan Alptekin stated that the municipality will continue its support for art and sports.
Ahmet Diker emphasized that the project was brought to life at the special request of Mayor Tugay and that they brought the Balkans together with Izmir.
