Cinema, Music, and Theater Events Begin in Istanbul

A wide variety of events in cinema, music, theater, and contemporary art are preparing to meet art lovers in Istanbul this week. Filmekimi starts on October 9, while the Istanbul leg of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival and the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival continue with diverse programs.

Filmekimi Starts on October 9

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, Filmekimi will start on October 9 and continue until October 18.

Within the scope of the festival, productions screened at the Cannes, Venice, and Toronto film festivals will meet audiences at various movie theaters.

Culture Route Festival in Istanbul

The Istanbul leg of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, started on September 26 and will run until October 4.

Throughout the nine-day festival, concert, exhibition, theater, opera, ballet, and gastronomy programs are being held at various locations across the city.

Important Exhibitions Open to Visitors

Within the framework of the exhibition program, significant exhibitions are taking place in many venues such as the Atatürk Cultural Center, Tophane-i Amire, and Rami Library.

Additionally, Istanbul Modern, Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Borusan Contemporary, and Akaretler Row Houses are hosting art lovers.

Concert and Jazz Events

Music lovers are meeting with a broad concert program ranging from beloved names of Turkish music to international artists.

Organized by Akbank Sanat, the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival is also continuing its artistic program at various venues until October 4.

Theater Season Revives

While the theater season continues with a busy schedule, numerous plays are being staged at the city's leading stages.

Maximum UNIQ Hall, Zorlu PSM, Trump Stage, DasDas Stage, and Muammer Karaca Theater are hosting the performances.
