Cultural heritage investments in the earthquake zone reach 34 billion liras
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the total budget of projects carried out for the restoration of historical artifacts in 11 provinces affected by the earthquake.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that 24 billion liras worth of work has been carried out so far for the revival of cultural heritage in 11 provinces affected by the February 6 earthquakes, and the investment will reach 34 billion liras with the completion of the remaining projects.
Cultural Heritage Revival Mobilization
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy evaluated the restoration works in the earthquake zone at a meeting held at the Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Projects Carried Out by General Directorates
It was reported that the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums has completed 79 projects, while within the contracted works of the General Directorate of Foundations, 209 out of 377 artifacts have been finished.
Budget and Financing Details
While resources exceeding 12 billion 265 million liras have been used so far for structures allocated to the Ministry, a budget of 22 billion liras has been allocated to the region by the General Directorate of Foundations.
