Culture and Art Awards Found Their Owners with a Ceremony in Bergama

The Bergama Culture and Art Foundation celebrated its 37th founding anniversary and the district's liberation day with a ceremony held at the Asklepion Ancient Theater, where culture and art awards were also presented to their recipients.

Meaningful Celebration at Asklepion

The Bergama Culture and Art Foundation celebrated its 37th founding anniversary with a ceremony held at the Asklepion Ancient Theater on September 14, 2026.

The event was organized in partnership with the Izmir Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, BERKSAV, the Bergama Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of Tourism Lovers of Bergama.

Protocol and Participants

Bergama District Governor Hasan Yaman, Izmir Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Sadık Doğruer, and numerous guests attended the ceremony.

Art lovers in the district, along with protocol members, showed great interest in the program.

Emphasis on the City's History

BERKSAV Period President Fatih Özbek stated in his opening speech that September 14 is both the anniversary of the district's liberation and the foundation's establishment.

Özbek expressed that Bergama is a living city of culture that carries the strength it receives from the past into the future.

2026 Art Award Recipients

Names who contributed to the introduction of Bergama folk songs into the TRT archive were deemed worthy of the Art Award.

The award was presented to Hale Gür, Hüseyin Yaltırık, and F. Reyhan Altınay.

Culture and Achievement Awards

The 2026 Culture Award was given to Civil Engineer and Architect Bülent Şahin for his restoration work in Bergama.

Additionally, the Dr. Hasan Ergül Achievement Award was presented to the two students who achieved the highest scores in the university entrance exam.

Yeni Türkü Concert

The ceremony program concluded with a concert by Yeni Türkü, who met their fans on the historic Asklepion stage.
