Deadline Approaching for the 2nd Trabzon Film Festival
Applications for the 2nd Trabzon Film Festival, hosted by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, close on September 21.
The final days have arrived for applications to the 2nd Trabzon Film Festival, which will be held from December 15-20, 2026, hosted by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. The application deadline has been announced as September 21 for the event, which will distribute a total of 800,000 TL in cash prizes for filmmakers and young screenwriters.
Festival Dates and Supporting Institutions
Trabzon is preparing to host different genres and narratives of cinema in December. Hosted by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, the festival is organized with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Directorate of Cinema, and the Governorship of Trabzon.
New Categories and Prize Distribution
With 5 new categories added to the competition program this year, a total of 800,000 TL in cash prizes will be awarded to filmmakers and young screenwriters. Trophies and cash prizes will find their owners under the headings of National Documentary Film Competition and National Short Film Competition.
Documentary and Short Film Awards
In the National Documentary Film Competition, the Best Film Award will be 200,000 TL and the Golden Taka Statue. In the short film categories, awards in the fiction, documentary, experimental, and animation branches have been set at 75,000 TL along with the Golden Taka Statue.
Student Screenplay Competition and Application
A Short Film Student Screenplay Competition is also being held to support future filmmakers, and the Best Student Screenplay award has been announced as 20,000 TL. Applications for the competitions are made via FilmFreeway.
