The fifth edition of the 'Let's Meet at the Three Gates' art event, which brings together different disciplines and was initiated to keep the memory of painter Muhittin Selamet alive in Antalya's historic Kaleiçi district, took place with the participation of academics, students, and visitors as part of an international festival.
The Birth of the Art Gathering
Initiated in Antalya's historic Kaleiçi district to keep the memory of painter Muhittin Selamet alive following his passing in 2016, the art event has expanded over time into an organization uniting different disciplines for over nine years.
From Kandiller Street to the Three Gates
The organization, which began with a painting workshop on Kandiller Street in 2017, expanded in subsequent years with the inclusion of the Three Gates into the program and met with art enthusiasts for the fifth time this year.
Interdisciplinary Workshops
Workshop activities were carried out in various art branches such as painting, sculpture, linocut printing, photography, collage, and short film, with the participation of academics and students from Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts.
Art Integrating with Society
The events, where local and foreign visitors are also directly involved in the production processes, aim for an art-producing institution to integrate with society and preserve cultural heritage.
