The Kahramanmaraş Culture Road Festival hosted a special event that brought Anatolia's deep-rooted folk song tradition to the opera stage.

The program, held within the scope of the festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, took place at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Cultural Center.

7 Regions and 7 Bards Theme

The program titled In the Footsteps of Bards, on the Path of Lovers-Opera in Anatolia met with the audience with the theme of 7 Regions, 7 Bards, 7 Folk Songs.

In the program, folk songs selected from different regions of Anatolia were reinterpreted with the aesthetics of opera art.

Cultural Heritage and Stories

Not only the musical aspects of the staged works, but also the stories behind their emergence were conveyed to the audience.

The cultural meanings carried by the works were presented to the listeners, sharing the depth of the heritage.

Transmission to Younger Generations

Soprano Ceylan Mira Balcı, President of the Anatolian Opera Association, undertook the coordination and solo performance of the show.

Balcı stated that they aimed to transmit Anatolia's cultural heritage particularly to children and young people through the project.

Festival Closing Date

Ceylan Mira Balcı's performance received great acclaim in the program, which saw high participation.

The Culture Road Festival, bringing together culture and art events in Kahramanmaraş, will conclude on September 20.
