Famous Names Supporting the Campaign
Well-known actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his roles as Doctor Strange and Sherlock Holmes; Mark Ruffalo, known for the role of Hulk; Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, and Tilda Swinton are among the participants.

In a joint statement published within the scope of the campaign, deep concern was expressed over Barghouti's continued detention in prison and allegations that he was subjected to mistreatment.
The statement called on the United Nations and world governments to take urgent action for the release of Marwan Barghouti.
Background and Trial of Marwan Barghouti
67-year-old Marwan Barghouti is known as one of the prominent figures of Fatah and was detained by Israeli forces in 2002 during the Second Intifada.
Sentenced to five life terms plus 40 years in prison by an Israeli court in 2004, Barghouti rejected the charges and did not recognize the legitimacy of the trial, and has been held in prison for about 24 years.
