International ZurnaZen Festival Kicks Off in Muğla's Menteşe District
Implemented by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, the festival met with art lovers through the opening event of the renovated open-air theater.
Organized by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, the 11th International ZurnaZen Festival kicked off with the opening of the renovated Prof. Dr. Şadan Gökovalı Open-Air Theater in the Menteşe district.
Opening Day and Panel of the Festival
The first day of the festival, organized by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality to keep cultural values alive, was held in the Menteşe district. As part of the first day, a panel titled "In the Footprint of Breath: The Universal Journey of the Zurna" was held at the Türkan Saylan Contemporary Life Center.
Theater Opening and Concerts
The renovated Prof. Dr. Şadan Gökovalı Open-Air Theater opened its doors with the participation of approximately 3,000 people on Tuesday, September 1, at 8:00 PM. Hüsnü Şenlendirici, Serkan Çağrı, the Nazende Polyphonic Turkish Music Choir, and the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra took the stage during the night.
International Participation and Artists
Zurna artists from Romania, China, Azerbaijan, Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırşehir, Gaziantep, and Muğla's Dibekdere Neighborhood took part in the festival.
Ongoing Event Program
The festival will continue with events at Milas Atapark Square on Wednesday, September 2, and Fethiye Beşkaza Square on Thursday, September 3.
