Master of Calligraphy Kazasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi Exhibition Opened at Rami Library
An exhibition prepared especially for the 150th anniversary of the passing of Kazasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi, an important 19th-century calligrapher and musician, has met with art lovers.
Prepared on the 150th anniversary of his passing, the "Master of Calligraphy: Kazasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi" exhibition was opened to visitors with a ceremony at the TÜYEK Exhibition Hall in Rami Library.
Opening Ceremony and Attendees
The opening, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Ferruh Muştuer, Imam Hatip of the Grand Hagia Sophia Mosque, was attended by many figures from the art and protocol worlds.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Coşkun Yılmaz, as well as writers and artists, took part in the ceremony.
Musical Performance
Within the scope of the event, a special musical performance consisting of the artist's compositions was presented.
Accompanied by the rebab, qanun, ney, tanbur, daire, and def, 5 works by Kazasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi were presented to the appreciation of the guests.
Protocol Speeches
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Coşkun Yılmaz emphasized that the artist was an important calligrapher, scholar, and statesman who lived in the 19th century.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül commemorated Kazasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi with mercy and thanked those who contributed to bringing the exhibition to life.

This special exhibition keeping the memory of Kazasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi alive will remain open to art lovers for two months.
Located in the TÜYEK Exhibition Hall inside Rami Library, the exhibition can be visited every day of the week between 09:00 and 18:00.
