Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy Examined Investments in Adıyaman
Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy inspected the projects carried out for the protection of historical heritage in Adıyaman and bringing it into tourism on-site.
Within the scope of his Adıyaman program, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy examined culture and tourism investments on-site, received information about the works at the Perre Ancient City, and inaugurated structures damaged in the earthquake.
Adıyaman Inspections
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy examined the ongoing works regarding culture and tourism investments in Adıyaman on-site. Holding various contacts within the scope of his program in the city, Ersoy attended the Provincial Evaluation Meeting held at the Adıyaman Governorate.
Visit to Perre Ancient City
Minister Ersoy visited the Perre Ancient City in Örenli Neighborhood, one of the five major cities of the Kingdom of Commagene. He examined the wall remains, rock tombs, and the fountain dating back to the Roman and Byzantine periods, which were an important center in the 1st century BC, and received information from officials.
Heritage for the Future Project
It was stated that within the scope of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Heritage for the Future Project, 5 million 800 thousand liras of funds were allocated in 2025 for excavation and simple repair works at the Perre Ancient City. Activities in the ancient city are being carried out meticulously.
Restoration of Historical Buildings
Minister Ersoy's Adıyaman program included the completion of the restorations of the Central Musalla Mosque, Besni Kurşunlu Mosque, and Abuzer Gaffari Mosque and Tomb, which were damaged in the February 6 earthquakes. The structures were reopened for worship and visits.
Technical Repair Processes
Within the scope of the works, ground surveys of the structures were conducted, wall scans were performed using the radar method, and stone and mortar analyses were completed. The dome, minaret, and sanctuary sections were repaired in accordance with their original architecture.
