Osmancık Diamond Rice Culture and Art Festival Begins
Organized by the Osmancık Municipality, the festival will be celebrated between September 18-27 with a cortege, motocross, horse racing, and wrestling.
Hosted by the Osmancık Municipality, the Diamond Rice Culture and Art Festival will bring together local residents and visitors with various cultural, artistic, sports, and gastronomic events from September 18 to September 27, 2026.
Festival Opening and First Day Events
The festival will officially begin with a cortege walk and a Mehter (Ottoman band) performance to be held in front of the Municipality on Friday, September 18, between 15.00 and 18.00.
As part of the program, the International Watercolor Works Painting Exhibition will also be opened, and traditional rice pilaf will be served to the participants.
Weekend Events and Children's Festival
On Saturday, September 19, at 10.00, motocross shows will be organized at the Festival Area, offering exciting moments.
On the same day, a Children's Festival will take place at the Covered Market Area at 11.00, and a Kite Festival will be held at the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Park at 17.00.
Traditional Horse Races and Rice Servings
One of the festival's notable traditional events, horse racing, will take place at the Festival Area on Sunday, September 20, at 09.00.
On Tuesday, September 22, the serving of pilaf prepared from Osmancık rice to citizens on the D100 Highway next to the Koyunbaba Tomb will continue.
Local Dishes and Conference Program
On Wednesday, September 23, at 14.00, a Local Dish Competition will be organized at the Osmancık Culture House with the participation of the City Council.
On Thursday, September 24, at 20.30, a conference will be held at the Devlet Bahçeli City Square with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karataş as the guest speaker.
Chief Wrestler Wrestling and Closing
The eagerly awaited Chief Wrestler Wrestling matches will take place at the Festival Area Wrestling Ground on Saturday, September 26, at 09.00.
The ten-day organization will conclude with trap shooting competitions held at the Festival Area on Sunday, September 27, at 10.00.
