Plans approved for a new tourism era on Kocaeli coasts

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy shared the tourism investments made in Kocaeli in recent years and announced that the approximately 20,000-hectare coastal strip plan amendment has been approved by the ministry.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that significant investments have been made in the field of culture and tourism in Kocaeli over the past twenty-four years.

Increase in Accommodation Capacity

Thanks to the facilities brought to the city, the number of business-certified accommodation facilities and the total bed capacity showed a significant increase.

Approved New Coastal Plan

The environmental layout plan of approximately twenty thousand hectares prepared by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality was approved by the ministry.

With the new planning, it is aimed to observe the balance of protection and use and to diversify alternative tourism types.
