Contemporary Istanbul, one of the world's leading contemporary art gatherings, is preparing to open its doors for the 21st time this year. The organization, to be held at Tersane Istanbul, brings together 70 galleries from 16 countries and over a thousand artworks.

Art Gathering at Tersane Istanbul

The 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul will take place at Tersane Istanbul between September 23-27. 70 galleries from 16 countries, 736 artists, and 1,372 artworks will participate in the fair.

International Participation and New Galleries

22 of the galleries taking part in the organization are participating in the fair for the first time. Additionally, space is being opened for nine galleries established within the last five years through the New Grounds section.

A Program Enriched by Ideas and Discussions

The CIF Dialogues program on September 23-24 will bring many topics, ranging from Asia's changing cultural position to the new generation of collecting, to the participants.

Cultural Networks with Focus Asia

This year's notable Focus Asia heading aims to establish a two-way cultural network between Turkey and Asia through artists, institutions, and curators.

Sculpture Trail in the Public Space

The Contemporary Istanbul x Tersane Istanbul Sculpture Trail carries 12 artworks outside the booths, including Jaume Plensa’s seven-meter-tall work named Juana.

Free Admission Opportunity for Students

The fair can be visited free of charge by undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students on September 24 and 25 between 17:00 and 20:00.

Next Year's Focus Point is Germany

Contemporary Istanbul announced that the Focus Germany heading will be used in the 22nd edition to be held in 2027 and that preparations have already begun.
