Presidential Symphony Orchestra Opens 200th Anniversary Season to Sold-Out Crowds
As the deep-rooted art institution began its new season celebrating its bicentennial history with heavy participation, it drew attention that tickets sold out weeks in advance.
The Presidential Symphony Orchestra opened its 2026-2027 art season in the capital with a special sold-out concert in its 200th year.
High Interest at CSO Ada Ankara
The Presidential Symphony Orchestra held the opening of its 2026-2027 art season on the evening of October 2 at the CSO Ada Ankara Ziraat Bankası Main Hall. This special event, which crowns the two-century journey of the orchestra whose roots trace back to the Musika-i Hümayun established in 1826, was met with intense interest from art lovers.
Tickets Sold Out Weeks in Advance
At the season opening, for which tickets were completely sold out weeks before the concert date, music lovers formed long queues at the venue entrance and in front of CSO Ada Ankara. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı also attended the opening concert, sharing the excitement of the institution's bicentennial with the audience.

Taking the stage under the direction of CSO Music Director Cemi'i Can Deliorman, the orchestra's guest soloist was world-renowned Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov. In the first part of the concert, the artist successfully performed Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor.
In the second half of the night, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol and Suite No. 2 from Manuel de Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat were presented to the appreciation of music lovers.
