Sevil Emirzade Documentary Meets Audiences at Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality Conference Hall

The Sevil Emirzade documentary, prepared in cooperation with the Women's Stories Association and Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality, met with audiences at the municipality's conference hall.

In his post-screening statement, Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu emphasized the importance of keeping Emirzade's memory alive and carrying her labor to future generations.

Stating that they started the preparations for the documentary while Sevil Emirzade was still alive, Amcaoğlu commemorated Emirzade with longing, noting that she added value to Turkish Cypriot cultural life through her voice, pen, and research.

Stating that recording the lives, struggles, and works of women is part of the responsibility of owning the past, Amcaoğlu noted that the labor of women who add value to these lands will not be forgotten.
