The Turkish-Irish friendship, whose foundations were laid through the humanitarian aid sent by the Ottoman Empire during the Great Famine in Ireland in 1847, is preparing to meet moviegoers with the documentary titled "An Gorta Mor: Star and Crescent".

Directed and produced by Hayriye Savaşçıoğlu, the documentary details the great disaster experienced in Ireland between 1845 and 1851 and the support provided by the Ottomans.

The documentary also examines the bonds between Trabzonspor, which shares the claret-and-blue colors, and Drogheda United, which bears the star and crescent on its crest along with the claret-and-blue colors.
