The 11th International Istanbul Arabic Book Fair Concluded in Istanbul
Held in Yenikapı, the fair hosted over 300 publishing houses from more than 30 countries, serving as a scene for cultural interaction.
The 11th International Istanbul Arabic Book Fair, held at the Yenikapı Eurasia Performance and Art Center, concluded with the participation of hundreds of publishing houses from over thirty countries and thousands of book lovers.
Intense International Participation in the Fair
It was realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and in cooperation with the Press and Publication Union, the International Association of Arabic Book Publishers, and the Turkish Press and Publication Professional Association.
Organized for the first time in 2016, the event expanded its international scope this year by bringing together more than 300 publishing houses from over 30 countries under the same roof.
Rich Culture and Art Program
Throughout the fair, talks, conferences, author meetings, book signing programs, poetry recitals, exhibitions, and various cultural and artistic events were held.
Publishers, authors, academics, translators, and artists came together with local and foreign visitors for nine days.
Copyright and Translation Activities
Publishing and translation activities between Turkish and Arabic were among the prominent main topics of the fair.
While industry professionals held discussions on new projects, publishing rights, and international collaborations, the 3rd Arabic-Turkish Translation Awards also found their owners.
Guest of Honor Syria and Rich Contents
The literature, history, art, and cultural heritage of Syria, the guest of honor of the fair, were brought together with visitors.
Different contents ranging from Palestine-themed publications and exhibitions to historical manuscripts highlighted the cultural diversity of the fair.
