Festival Opening Performance
Directed by Caroline Guiela Nguyen, the first female director of the Theatre national de Strasbourg, Lacrima will be presented to theatre lovers on October 22-23 at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage.
ENKA Foundation Support
According to the statement made by the ENKA Foundation, the production, for which the foundation is the performance sponsor, will be staged as the opening show of the 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. This collaboration is leaving behind its 20th year this year.
Subject of the Play Lacrima
Lacrima, which means tear in Latin, focuses on the production process—stretching from Paris to Mumbai—of a wedding dress ordered for a British princess's wedding, conscience responsibilities, and invisible labor.
While questioning the prices paid while chasing ideals, the play invites audiences to reflect on the meaning of living and producing together.
International Success
Following its premiere at the Avignon Festival, the impressive production drew international attention by being invited to the world's leading stages and festivals.
