The 5th International Minstrels Festival held in Kayseri brought together minstrels and bards from Turkey as well as Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan on the same stage.
The Minstrels Festival Took Place in Kayseri
The 5th International Minstrels Festival was organized at the Erciyes Cultural Center in cooperation with the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and the Kayseri Governorate.
The organization was brought to life with the participation of many figures from various provinces of Turkey and the Turkic world.
Emphasis Was Placed on the Cultural Capital
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that the city has assumed an important responsibility with the title of the 2027 Turkic World Cultural Capital.
Büyükkılıç expressed that such organizations suit Kayseri very well and strengthen cultural bonds.
Shared Memory and Traditions Were Kept Alive
Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, in his speech, drew attention to the critical place of minstrels in the shared memory of the Turkish nation.
Throughout the event, the tradition of lutes and lyrics was brought together on the same stage, conveying the shared cultural values of the Turkic world to the participants.
