The First Porsuk Festival Held in Eskişehir Welcomes 100 Thousand Art Lovers
Hosted by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and held for the first time this year, the Porsuk Festival brought hundreds of artists from different countries together with citizens over four days.
The Porsuk Festival, implemented for the first time in Eskişehir this year, concluded with intense interest from art lovers and hosted thousands of participants.
Beginning and Scope of the Festival
Organized under the direction of Murat Danacı within the scope of the 2026 Year of Eskişehir, the Porsuk Festival opened its doors on September 2. Throughout the four-day events, a rich program was offered in the fields of music, cinema, theater, dance, exhibitions, workshops, sports, and talks.
International Participants
A total of 136 artists from 21 different countries around the world took part in the festival and performed at various locations throughout Eskişehir.
Theater and Performing Arts
Within the scope of the festival program, plays staged by Craft Theater, Bahçe Galata, Luminart, and Artalan Collective teams were presented to the appreciation of art lovers. While Theater Suare and Kim Theater Team performed interactive improvisation shows, folklore teams also presented colorful dance performances.
Open-Air Film Screenings
Within the scope of the section called River Cinema, popular Turkish films met with cinema lovers in the open air. Among the screened productions were Bildiğin Gibi Değil, Aile Arasında, and Neşeli Günler.
Talks and Panels
In events attended by experts in their fields, actor Tansu Biçer, director Vuslat Saraçoğlu, journalist Güven İslamoğlu, Prof. Dr. Medine Sivri, and Prof. Dr. Zülfükar Bayraktar met with participants to hold talks on various subjects.
Presentation of the Flag of Honour
Just before the closing concert, the Flag of Honour was presented to the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality by the Committee on the Honour Flag of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The flag was handed over to the mayors by member of parliament Gökçe Gökçen.
Symphonic Closing Concert
The Porsuk Festival came to an end on the evening of September 6 at Kentpark with a concert by mor ve ötesi, accompanied by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Orçun Orçunsel.
