The Seyir Installation and the Golden Horn Experience
Contemporary Istanbul offers the view of the Golden Horn to the audience through a different art experience. Multidisciplinary artist Balkan Karışman's digital installation titled "Seyir", curated by GLOBART, brings the real-time view of the Golden Horn into the exhibition space.
An Image That Changes with the Viewer's Movement
The screen, which looks like a window opening to the Golden Horn when viewed from afar, changes as the viewer approaches. While the Golden Horn image dissolves, visuals from different times appear within the silhouette, and when moving away, the piece reassembles.
The Artist's Commentary on the Work
Artist Balkan Karışman states that the main purpose of the work is to make the viewer a part of the image. The artwork questions the boundaries between the watcher and the watched.
Trendyol Art and Support Projects
