Traditional Bullwrestling Competitions Concluded in Artvin's Ardanuç District
The bullwrestling competitions held within the scope of the Ardanuç Culture and Art Festival attracted great attention, and champions in various categories were determined.
The two-day bullwrestling competitions held at the 6th Ardanuç Culture and Art Festival in Artvin's Ardanuç district have concluded. A total of 600 thousand liras in prizes was distributed to those who ranked in the organization, which featured 56 bulls coming from various provinces.
Festival and Participation Details
The 6th Ardanuç Culture and Art Festival, held this year in Artvin's Ardanuç district, hosted colorful events. The bullwrestling competitions organized within the scope of the festival were followed with great interest by the citizens.
Seven Different Categories
A total of 56 bulls from the provinces of Rize and Erzurum, as well as Artvin, participated in the organization at Ardanuç Arena. The bulls competed in seven separate categories according to their weights: chief, sub-chief, small sub-chief, large middle, small middle, foot, and yearling.
Exciting Matches
Thousands of local and foreign spectators followed the matches, which continued uninterrupted for two days. The competitive moments and colorful images experienced during the wrestling added excitement to the atmosphere of the festival.
Awards Found Their Owners
At the end of the organization, a total cash prize of 600 thousand liras was presented to the owners of the ranking bulls. In the chief category, the bull named "Dervişbey", owned by Yılmaz Köse, came in first, earning its owner 150 thousand liras.
Category Champions
Following the competitive struggles, the first-place winners in the other categories were also clarified. In the sub-chief category "Kadir Ağa", in the small sub-chief category "Karagöz", in the large middle category "Bulut", in the small middle category "Çapkın", in the foot category "Arıza", and in the yearling category "Bozbey" reached the championship.
Interesting Moments in the Arena
During the wrestling, a notable struggle took place between the bulls named "Aslan" and "Alvin". As Aslan accelerated as its opponent came towards it, it jumped through the gap above the arena gate and left the area, making Alvin the winner of the match.
