Thousands of Yezidis from the Kurdistan Region and all corners of Sinjar have gathered for the traditional seven-day Cemaye events held at the historic Sherfedin Shrine.

High Participation at the Sherfedin Shrine

Thousands of Kurdish Yezidis coming from different regions of the Kurdistan Region and Sinjar met at the historic Sherfedin Shrine.

The ceremonies at the holy site located at the foothills of Mount Sinjar received intense interest from all segments of society.

Religious Rituals and Hymns

Within the scope of the ceremonies, religious hymns, Qewls, and Beyts were performed accompanied by Yezidi clergy and Qewwals.

While the sounds of def and shebab echoed in the courtyard of the shrine, participants prayed in their traditional attire.

Wishes for Peace and Tranquility

Visitors participating from the Hanike region of Duhok wished for peace to come to Sinjar, Iraq, and the entire world.

It was reported that a large mass prayer and feast will be held on the final day of the seven-day events.
