TUNCA's 'Side by Side' Exhibition Meets Visitors at Yanköşe
Kahve Dünyası’s non-profit art project Yanköşe is exhibiting artist TUNCA's installation, prepared with windows collected from Ayvalık, in its twelfth edition.
Artist TUNCA has become the new guest of the Yanköşe project on the route from Karaköy towards Kabataş. The artist's work titled 'Side by Side', created using second-hand windows sourced from Ayvalık, has begun to be exhibited in the public space.
Yanköşe's 12th Edition Has Begun
Located along the route from Karaköy to Kabataş in Istanbul, the non-profit contemporary art project Yanköşe has brought its twelfth edition to art lovers this year.
Windows from Ayvalık
Artist TUNCA collected wooden windows from Ayvalık after not finding what he was looking for in Istanbul. On both walls, windows salvaged from homes were lined up side by side without leaving any gaps.
Traces of Collective Urban Memory and Squatter Culture
Each belonging to a different home and life, these windows come together to transform into a collective urban memory and examine the unplanned urbanization that gained momentum in Turkey after the 1980s.
To Be Exhibited for Six Months
The public space installation titled 'Side by Side', in which the artist focuses on the elements shaping the contemporary texture, will continue to welcome visitors in Kabataş for the next six months.
