Celal Atik Sports Hall Modernized with Comprehensive Maintenance and Renovation Works
The historic sports hall in Kültürpark, İzmir, has been equipped with international standard flooring and energy-efficient systems.
Comprehensive maintenance and renovation works carried out by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality at the Celal Atik Sports Hall within Kültürpark have been completed.
FIBA Standard Flooring
Within the framework of the works carried out by the Department of Technical Affairs teams, the flooring of the one-thousand-square-meter sports field was completely renewed.
As a result of this arrangement, the court gained a sports flooring compliant with and approved by FIBA standards for basketball and volleyball matches.
Roof and Interior Renovations
Comprehensive painting works were carried out on the two-thousand-square-meter interior of the facility, refreshing the appearance of the hall.
In addition, waterproofing was applied to the thirty-five-hundred-square-meter roof area, increasing the building's durability against external factors.
Energy Saving and Lighting
Old 400-watt floodlights were dismantled and replaced with 180-watt high-bay fixtures.
Thanks to this lighting transformation, electricity consumption was reduced from the 50-kilowatt level to the 17-kilowatt level, achieving a 66 percent saving.
Safety and Pool Modernization
In order to maximize fire safety in the building, the fire water tank and booster systems were completely renewed.
In addition, the ventilation system and pool pump groups located in the pool engine room were modernized in accordance with modern technology.
Sports City İzmir Vision
Tolga Kanpolat, a civil engineer at the Construction Works Branch Directorate, stated that the works were brought to life with the vision of Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay.
Kanpolat expressed that they will continue to produce new projects and renovate existing sports halls in every region of İzmir.
