Turkey Culture Road Festival Begins in Ankara
Running from September 19 to 27, the festival brings together art enthusiasts and cultural gatherings through hundreds of events across the capital.
As Ankara becomes the 19th stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, numerous venues have opened their doors to art lovers within the scope of events that will last for nine days.
Scope and Opening Program of the Festival
In Ankara, the 19th stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, a total of 518 events are taking place across 42 venues between September 19 and 27.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy inaugurated the Ankara Culture Road Festival by visiting four exhibitions at CSO Ada Ankara.
Concerts and Performing Arts
Throughout the festival, 37 concerts, 24 exhibitions and installations, 12 talks, 7 children's plays, 2 musicals, as well as opera and ballet performances will be held.
Gökhan Türkmen, Hakan Altun, Derya Uluğ, Sefo, Ceza, Ebru Yaşar, and Özcan Deniz will give concerts on the main stage at Başkent Millet Bahçesi.
International and Special Performances
A concert featuring the National Arab Orchestra alongside Palestinian vocalist Nai Barghouti, as well as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of conductor Vasily Petrenko, will take the stage.
The Ankara State Opera and Ballet will present Mozart's opera Don Giovanni to the audience in a piano-accompanied concert version.
Cultural Heritage and Exhibitions
An exhibition featuring traditional arts such as marbling, illumination, calligraphy, weaving, tile making, and leather craftsmanship was opened at the 15 July Democracy Museum.
The Sacred Relics of the Ottoman Empire are on display at the Ankara Ethnography Museum, while the Taviloğlu Collection is being exhibited at the Ankara Painting and Sculpture Museum.
Gastronomy and Children's Activities
More than 50 restaurants are featured on the festival's gastronomy route, with workshops and tasting events organized with the participation of chefs.
Specifically established for children at Başkent Millet Bahçesi, the Children's Village offers entertaining and educational spaces for young visitors.
