Visitor Influx to IZBOOK Fair at Izmir Kulturpark

Hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized in cooperation with IZFAZ and TACT Fuarcilik at Kulturpark, the IZBOOK fair continues with intensive participation from book lovers of all ages. Within the scope of the event, guest of honor Gunduz Vassaf held a talk, while master Turkish cinema figure Ediz Hun came together with his fans at a book-signing session.

Intense Participation at Kulturpark

The IZBOOK fair, held under the auspices of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, brought together a wide audience of book lovers, from children and youths to adults, under the roof of Kulturpark.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore the stands in the fairgrounds, examine newly released books, and meet with authors.

Great Interest in Ediz Hun

Master figure of Turkish cinema Ediz Hun was among the most sought-after guests of the fair and met with his fans at the organized event.

Book lovers formed long queues in the signing area to have the artist sign their books and to take commemorative photos.

Talk by Gunduz Vassaf

The guest of honor of the fair, author and thinker Gunduz Vassaf, met with his readers at a talk titled Poetry and Life in Neandros, moderated by Dila Tasci.

Vassaf discussed poetry's place in the history of civilization and humanity's bond with nature through his first book of poetry, The Neandros Epic.

Technology and Human Relations

During the talk, attention was drawn to the fact that humanity has moved away from its past social structures and shifted towards a more self-centered world today.

Gunduz Vassaf emphasized that social media and digital communication weaken ties in face-to-face relationships and affect human ways of thinking.

The IZBOOK fair can be visited free of charge by book lovers every day between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM until September 27.

It was reported that various talks and book-signing programs will continue at Kulturpark throughout the event.
