Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the most important names in music history, returned to art lovers in Istanbul 235 years after his passing using contemporary stage technologies. Brought to life through the organization of Candela Concert, the production premiered at Beyoğlu Sahne.
The Intersection of Hologram and Technology
Written and directed by Pouya Fayazi, the production brings together ghost screen hologram technology, three-dimensional visuals, dance, and live music on the same stage. The show conveys Mozart's story to the audience, stretching from his childhood to his love life and the crises he experienced.
Chronological Flow and Live Performances
In the approximately one-hour show, the artist's life unfolds under chronological headings. These narratives are accompanied by six to seven of the composer's works that correspond to his emotional world at the time. The hologram technique establishes a sense of unity on stage.
Atmosphere of the Historic Venue
Hosting the screening, Beyoğlu Sahne draws attention with the stone walls, high ceiling, and frescoes of the historic Mario Cantoni Building, which was once a bakery. Illuminated by hundreds of candles, the venue offers spectators an atmosphere reminiscent of an old church.
Cast and Crew
In the production, the character of Mozart is portrayed by T. Ümit Ertokuş, while dance performances are undertaken by Liubou Matviyenka and Hamza Taşcı. Meanwhile, the musical pieces are performed live by Dengin Ceyhan on the piano and Derya Çelik, Doğa Gençalioğlu, Birsu Çelik, and Devrim Büyükbayraktar on string instruments.
