Youth Climate Workshop Held in Eskişehir as Part of COP31 Preparations

A national-level workshop with the participation of students was held in Eskişehir ahead of the climate summit to take place in Antalya.

Within the scope of preparations for COP31 to be held in Antalya, the "COP31 National Youth Climate Workshop" was organized in Eskişehir with student participation.

Workshop Host and Participants

Hosted by Ali Güven Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, the event was attended by protocol members, academics, teachers, and numerous students.

Provincial Director of National Education Sinan Aydın and Eskişehir Technical University Environmental Engineering Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Yiğit Avdan also took part in the program.

Environmental Issues and Proposed Solutions

Throughout the program, students discussed climate and environmental problems they encounter in their living environments, examining their causes and effects.

The youth had the opportunity to thoroughly evaluate and discuss potential solutions that could be generated against these problems.

Group Work and Themes

Within the framework of the workshop, participating students focused on the efficient use of energy and natural resources.

Additionally, group studies were conducted under various headings such as biodiversity, global warming, climate justice, and sustainable living.

Active Participation of Youth in the Process

In his assessment, Provincial Director of National Education Sinan Aydın emphasized the importance of increasing climate change awareness among youth.

Aydın stated that the active participation of students in the solution processes and the ideas they put forward are extremely valuable.
